Here are a few highlights.

1. The Armory will provide space for job training, health care counseling, and housing advocacy services for veterans, women and men, and families.

2. The design will honor the military history of the Armory.

3. The restored Armory will become a center of the culinary arts. It will draw people from across the region to spend time in a beautiful space enjoying wonderful food.

4. The Armory will celebrate the diversity of New Rochelle’s population and make the waterfront more accessible to all of its residents.

5. The Armory will provide jobs, not only during the construction phase. Once food businesses are established, 300 new jobs will be created.

6. The Armory project will coordinate with new efforts to manufacture kayaks and bicycles in New Rochelle as part of a wider effort to provide greater access the city’s water front and open spaces.

7. The Armory will provide a curated visual and performing arts program both indoors and outdoors for adults, children and families.

8. Fifty percent of the Armory restoration project team members are from New Rochelle.
